QUANTITATIVE MEASUREMENT OF THE SIGNIFICANCE OF SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL INFORMATION AS A FACTOR OF PRODUCTION
Abstract
Under the conditions of modern economy scientific and technical information is one of the most significant factors of economic growth. This article presents the results of studying the dependence between the volume of scientific and technical information (STI) and the quantity of the gross domestic product (GDP) of the Russian Federation. The authors view scientific articles, operating patents for inventions, operating patents for utility models and leading production technologies as composite elements of STI. They present assessments of the importance of particular information sources in
terms of GDP formation and assessments of the STI value as a factor of economic growth. The article is based on the results of the study carried out at the expense of the budgetary funds under the R&D Thematic Plan of the Financial University for 2011.
